Cinnamon Overnight Oats

As the weather begins to warm up and the sun rises earlier each day, our mornings may become more hectic than usual. You may want to start your day with a morning walk, or the kids have early morning soccer practice. Whatever the reason, your breakfast may seem out of reach. But it doesn't have to! One great way to ensure you get some proper nutrition to keep you going on busy days is by preparing some options ahead of time - like these tasty overnight oats!


Cinnamon-Roll Overnight Oats

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats (see Tip)

  • 2 1/2 cups unsweetened nondairy milk, such as almond or coconut

  • 6 teaspoons light brown sugar

  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Stir oats, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and salt together in a large bowl.

  2. Divide among five 8-ounce jars.

  3. Screw on lids and refrigerate overnight or for up to 5 days.

  4. Serve with your favourite fresh fruit!


To avoid raw oats, make sure the oats are completely submerged in the liquid before covering and refrigerating.
