Creamy Fruit Dessert

Finding a delicious dessert recipe is always easy. Finding one that is also healthy and nutritious? Well, that takes some research. We found this delicious and heart-healthy dessert from the Mayo Clinic website. Try it out, or have a look at their extensive list to see what entices you or your elderly loved one!

Creamy Fruit Dessert. With cream cheese, sweet chunks of fruit, and toasted coconut, you will love this dessert while also loving your heart.


  • 4 ounces of fat-free cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup plain, fat-free yogurt

  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

  • 1 can (11 ounces) of mandarin oranges, drained

  • 1 can (8.25 ounces) of water-packed sliced peaches, drained

  • 1 can (8 ounces) of water-packed pineapple chunks, drained

  • 4 tablespoons of shredded coconut, toasted


  1. In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, yogurt, sugar and vanilla.

  2. Using an electric mixer on high speed, beat until smooth.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the oranges, peaches and pineapple.

  4. Add the cream cheese mixture and fold together.

  5. Cover and refrigerate until well-chilled.

  6. Transfer to a serving bowl or individual bowls.

  7. Garnish with shredded coconut, and serve!
